Nunzio Mirtillo, senior vice president and head, market area South East Asia, Oceania and India, Ericsson will retire from the company in 2024. Nunzio has been with Ericsson for 35 years and has made significant contributions to the company’s success.

Meanwhile, the company has restructured its executive team with the appointment of Chris Houghton as chief operating officer (COO) and Asa Tamsons as head of business area enterprise wireless solutions (BEWS).

Houghton has worked with Ericsson for 35 years and is currently senior vice president, market area North East Asia. In his new role, he will focus on cross group initiatives, including cost efficiency initiatives. On the other hand, Tamsons is currently serving as the senior vice president, business area technologies and new business (BTEB). In her new role, she will focus on growing enterprise wireless solutions but also to increase the pace towards breakeven.

The appointments of Houghton and Tamsons are effective as of November 1, 2023. As of then, business area technologies and new businesses, will report to the COO.

Furthermore, according to Ericsson, George Mulhern, senior vice president and head, BEWS, Ericsson will become an advisor to BEWS effective November 1, 2023, and will retire from Ericsson in 2024.
