Ericsson’s gigabit passive optical network (GPON) solution has been selected by Grameen CyberNet to provide a fibre-to-thehome (FTTH) network in Bangladesh. Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will deliver central office equipment and devices for homes based on its EDA 1500 solution, which is an access solution based on the GPON standard. It will also deliver infrastructure such as fibre systems and cables for the network.
