Ericsson has appointed Rima Qureshi as the company?s chief strategy officer. She will be responsible for driving the company?s merger and acquisition strategy, besides serving as chairman of Ericsson?s Business Unit Modems.
Qureshi?s key focus area would be promoting Ericsson?s long term evolution thin modem business. She will report directly to Hans Vestberg, chief executive officer, Ericsson.
Qureshi joined Ericsson in 1993 and has been senior vice-president and part of Ericsson?s executive leadership team since 2010. In the past, she has been responsible for managing the company?s business unit CDMA Mobile Systems and led research and development, sales, and services functions.
In addition, Qureshi has also been managing global service delivery centres for Ericsson in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
