Bharti Airtel has said that it will partner Ericsson and Huawei to expand and manage its mobile network in Bangladesh.
While the financial aspect of the deal is not known, the operator has revealed that Ericsson will deliver and manage the majority of its network capacity in Bangladesh while Huawei will provide services in the eastern areas of the country.
The agreement with Ericsson and Huawei entails network design, planning, implementation, project management as well as material and services for the base station sites and microwave transmission, the company said in a statement.
It will also ensure that the networks are ready for the third generation (3G) services which will enable fast roll out of 3G services at a later date, it added.
