Eight companies are learnt to have expressed interest in buying Qatar’s second fixed line licence. These include the Vodafone Group, Verizon Communications, AT&T Incorporated, British Telecom, Italy’s Eutelia SPA, Hong Kong’s PCCW, Bahrain Telecommunications and Jordan Telecom Group. The Qatar government is expecting to sell the licence for over 10 million riyals ($2.75 million).
