Ecom Express has appointed Ajay Chitkara as its new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO). Chitkara currently serves as the director and CEO of Airtel Business and will assume his responsibility at Ecom Express from September 1, 2023. He will report to the board of directors for the logistics company, which is backed by Partners Group, Warburg Pincus and British International Investment.
Chitkara comes with the experience of over two decades of proven track record and has led and delivered significant portfolio and organisation change at Airtel Business. He also serves on the boards for Nxtra, Hughes Communications and Network i2i. He began his career in sales at Comsat Max before joining Airtel in 2001.
