The government is unlikely to table the draft Indian Telecommunication Bill 2022 in the monsoon session of parliament.
According to industry sources, internal discussions are going on, and stakeholders from all sides have already given their views. However, there are multiple elements of the bill that have to be stitched together.
The government had earlier set a target for the monsoon session to table the bill. The session is scheduled to run from July 20, 2023 to August 11, 2023.
