The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has scheduled a meeting with officials from the Tamil Nadu government to discuss grievances pertaining to the Tamil Nadu fibrenet tender worth Rs 19 billion.
The meeting will be chaired by the additional secretary of DPIIT and will have representatives of Department of Telecommunications (DoT), TANFINET, Arappor Iyakkam, Tejas Networks and Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC).
Earlier, NGO Arappor Iyakkam had filed several complaints with the state and central governments alleging favouritism in the tender which DPIIT is currently inquiring into. On June 13, 2020, DPIIT had asked the Tamil Nadu government to keep the tenders open after an additional letter was given by the NGO.
