As per industry sources, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) are working towards finalising the guidelines to make the ‘GatiShakti National Master Plan’ portal available to the public. The portal is expected to be made public by August 2022.
The Gati Shakti National Master Plan was introduced in a bid to improve the logistics sector and enhance multi-modal connectivity to various economic zones via tech adoption and speedier implementation. The move also lays out the vision to transform energy infrastructure across the nation via a one-click comprehensive view model – that will help users build transportation plans and implementation processes.
With the move, multiple departments of the government, be it business-to-business (B2B) fulfilment from warehouse to stores or business-to-consumer (B2C) orders like delivery of food, grocery and services, is expected to have enhanced operations. Meanwhile, the move will also help[ in reducing transit cost, increasing efficiency and lowering of inventory expenses, better access to data and popularisation of local businesses and supply chains.
