New security norms by DoT for FDI in telecom service companies may allow operators to set up remote access abroad. Remote access enables management of an entire network from an overseas location. However, operators will have to provide complete information on their remote access location to the Intelligence Bureau. Provision will also have to be made for monitoring of remote access.
