The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has come out with the Information Memorandum for the 2G spectrum auction.
The Information Memorandum released by DoT details the rules and regulations for potential bidders keen on participating in the 2G spectrum auction in the 1800 MHz band and the 800 MHz band.
The reserve price for spectrum in 1800 MHz band and the 800 MHz band, for individual circles has also been mentioned in the document. Amongst all circles, Delhi has the highest reserve price of Rs 6.93 billion and Rs 9 billion for the GSM and the CDMA spectrum, respectively. The next most expensive circle is Mumbai with a reserve price of Rs 6.78 billion and Rs 8.81 billion for GSM and CDMA spectrum, respectively.
The base price for the pan India spectrum in the 1800 MHz band has been put at Rs 140 billion. The base price for the 800 MHz band is 1.3 times higher than the 1800 MHz band.
Further, operators interested in participating in the upcoming spectrum auction will have to apply by October 19, 2012.
