The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has received 26 applications for the production linked-incentive (PLI) scheme for telecom equipment and design.
According to officials, 14 companies have applied for the second leg of the PLI scheme while 12 applications have been received for the new design-linked incentive scheme. While Samsung is a new entrant to the telecom PLI scheme, a few existing companies have migrated to the design-led manufacturing scheme as it offers additional incentive of 1 per cent.
The government will now finalise the applicants who will be eligible to receive incentives under the scheme.
