The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has reappointed Deepa Tyagi as the senior Deputy Director General (DDG) of Telecom Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), after putting testing and certification on hold for gear vendors.
Prior to this, Tyagi was serving at the National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation & Training (NTIPRIT).
As per industry sources, UK Srivastava has been transferred elsewhere. He was recently brought to TEC from TRAI where he was serving principal advisor, looking after telecom networks, spectrum and licensing.
Earlier in November 2020, TEC had formed eight working groups to create a roadmap for the deployment of 5G in different sectors such as agriculture, fintech, transportation and education.
