DoT plans to announce its policy on 3G mobile services by Februaryend. This includes adopting a dual-band system whereby both the 2.1 GHz and 1900 MHz bands will be freed up for offering 3G services. DoT has also stated that the release of 3G spectrum should be delayed until it is made available for all operators.
