The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued notices to Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) and Bharti Airtel to pay Rs 30.5 billion as penalty.

The penalty has been levied for allegedly violating licence norms by denying Reliance Jio adequate points of interconnection (PoIs) in 2016, which affected its quality of services.

While Airtel has been ordered to pay Rs 10.5 billion, Vi has been asked to pay Rs 20 billion as penalty within three weeks.
