DoT likely to approach TRAI for recommendations on 5G auctions, among other issues

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is likely to seek recommendations from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on issues such as 5G auctions, among others.

To this end, the minister of state for communications, Devusinh Chauhan, told Rajya Sabha that the government may refer issues in the auction of spectrum available for International Mobile Telecommunications services to the TRAI.

However, he gave no indication of a 5G auction timeline.
