The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is continuing its efforts to crackdown on players involved in the inter-circle roaming (ICR) issue.

After Vodafone India, DoT is reportedly planning to issue notices Bharti Hexacom and Idea Cellular. This is on grounds of the two operators permitting companies who did not have 3G spectrum to utilise their networks to provide such services. This, as per DoT, is against the existing Cellular Mobile Telephone Service licence norms.

Further, it is believed that Idea Cellular will be issued two notices for violating licence norms in the Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (West), Uttar Pradesh (East), Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh circles. Bharti Hexacom is being issued a notice in the Northeast circle.
