The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued about 22 million numbers to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) to launch 4G services in the country. Earlier, DoT had allocated numbers to the company for conducting test trials for voice services on its 4G network in Jamnagar, Delhi and Mumbai.
Following the allocation of numbers, RJIL is expected to launch 4G services in Maharashtra and subsequently in other circles.
RJIL is the only company that has pan-India broadband wireless access spectrum that can be used for providing 4G services to users.
