DoT is planning to connect 5,000 of a total of 6,000 rural blocks in the country by wireless broadband. Spectrum for the same is expected to be allocated by the end of the year. DoT is currently discussing the modalities of the tender for this project with technology and telecom service providers and internet service providers.
