DoT has asked telecom operators to not market or advertise internet services with less than 256 kbps download speed as broadband service. It has clarified that internet services with download speeds like 64 kbps and 128 kbps will not be considered as broadband services. The clarifications have been issued to prevent companies from misleading internet customers through marketing tactics.
