The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has sought a clarification from Bharti Airtel, Vi, and Reliance Jio, regarding their plan about opting for the four-year moratorium on paying adjusted gross revenue (AGR) and deferring spectrum payments. The DoT has sought a response from the three incumbent operators regarding this by October 29, 2021.
As per industry sources, DoT had written to the telcos on October 15, 2021, giving them two weeks to respond.
Further, telecom operators have until January 14, 2022, to decide whether they want to convert their interest due on deferred spectrum payments to equity.
