The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has reportedly filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court (SC) on the status of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues paid by telcos.

The SC had asked the telecom operators to make 10 per cent of the upfront payment of their dues by March 31, 2021. The remaining amount is to be paid over a 10 year period starting April 1, 2021.

Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Tata Teleservices had failed to pay the first installment towards AGR dues to DoT which had to be paid before March 31, 2021. According to the telcos, they have already paid more than 10 per cent of their total AGR dues and do not need to pay anything by March 31, 2021.
