The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is reportedly expected to complete the reassessment of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues for Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) by June 2026. The process was initially targeted for completion by March 31, 2026.

The review of spectrum usage charges (SUC) is currently underway, following the internal reassessment of licence fees by the Controller of Communication Accounts. This has led to the extension of the timeline to June.

The union cabinet had earlier granted relief to Vi, in line with a supreme court order, by freezing its AGR dues at Rs 876.95 billion for the period from 2006-07 to 2018-19. These frozen dues remain subject to reassessment. However, the AGR dues for 2017-18 and 2018-19, which were finalised by the supreme court’s 2020 ruling, are excluded and remain payable as determined.

In response to a Lok Sabha query, minister of state for communications and rural development had stated that Vi’s AGR dues, as frozen on December 31, 2025, would be reassessed by the DoT in accordance with deduction verification guidelines.
