The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed telecom service providers (TSPs) to block malicious incoming calls from international numbers claiming to cause disruption in India’s stock exchanges and trading.
The DoT has also asked citizens to beware of malicious calls from such numbers. Such malicious calls are initiated by anti-national elements aimed at creating panic.
Citizens, on receiving such calls, are advised to report to DoT on the Sanchar Saathi portal, or their respective TSPs.
