The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed the telecom operators and infrastructure providers to take all the necessary measures to ensure digital connectivity in Maharasthra and Gujarat in the wake of tropical cyclone Nisarga.

The tropical storm is expected to arrive in the two coastal states on Wednesday.

To this end, TAIPA has stated that all its IP members have taken required steps to ensure 24/7 connectivity in the areas which are likely to be affected by the cyclone. Further, all the other background arrangements have also being made such as stocking of additional DG sets, battery banks, spare parts, diesel, etc.

Moreover, TAIPA has mentioned that the telecom infrastructure companies have deployed additional rescue teams in districts likely to be impacted by Nisarga.
