The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) asked all telecom licence holders, including non-telecom companies, to speed up the process of self-assessment of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues and their payments.

Further, it has warned all telecom licence holders against any delay in the payment of AGR dues.

Further, the DoT has asked the licence holders to seek clarifications on any doubts that may not have been covered in the recent Supreme Court judgment by December 13, 2019.

The dues for around 15 telcos are estimated at Rs 1.47 trillion, which could rise further. As per industry estimates the dues of non-telecom companies, which hold nearly 3,500 licenses are around Rs 2.28 trillion.

Further, the DoT has sought comprehensive year-wise and circle wise representations, but not on issues decided by the court order.
