The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has asked states to refrain from sealing mobile towers or disconnecting the required power supply without the approval of the Telecom Enforcement, Resource and Monitoring (TERM) Cell.
According to DoT, telecommunications is an essential service and each state should practice due diligence before sealing the base stations installed at the tower sites and disconnecting the electricity supply to the towers on grounds of alleged violation of radiation norms.
Following the acquisition, no changes would be made to the company?s leadership team.
