The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has asked the Ministry of Law and Justice for its opinion on implementing various new policies pertaining to spectrum pricing, say news reports.

This, it is believed, may cause the new telecom policy to be delayed to the second half of 2012.

Prior to this, the Telecom Commission had approved several policy changes related to spectrum pricing, including imposing a one-time fee on incumbents holding excess spectrum beyond 6.2 MHz.
