The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has appointed Times Internet Limited (TIL) as the auctioneer to conduct the forthcoming spectrum auction, say news reports.
TIL and three other firms qualified for DoT?s financial bids round after clearing the technical bid. The two other companies that had earlier been shortlisted to bid for the technical round for the spectrum auction included NCDEX Spot Exchange and Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation. However, both the companies failed to qualify for the technical bid.
Following TIL?s selection, the Empowered Group of Ministers on telecom will discuss the auction schedule which will be prepared by DoT in consultation with TIL. DoT will be shortly releasing the final document that will contain all the details pertaining to the auction.
