Navneet Gupta has been appointed as joint secretary in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). Gupta is an Indian Audit and Account Service officer of the 1997 batch. As per a statement from the Department of Personnel and Training, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment from the date of assuming office for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Earlier, in December 2018, Gupta had been empanelled to hold the post of joint secretary or its equivalent in the Government of India.
