The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has amended the license agreement for voicemail, audio text, and the UMS licence for rationalisation of bank guarantees (BG).
Previously, these BGs were renewed every year or beyond the expected date of commissioning of service, whichever was later. Further, the BGs were renewed from time to time till expiry of licenses as directed by the Licensor
However, now with the latest amendment the DoT has said that the BGs must be maintained, kept alive, and kept valid by the licensee throughout the duration of the license agreement.
