The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has allowed telecom service providers in Delhi to install necessary equipment in hospital premises to improve connectivity. According to the DoT, due to the large size and complex building structure of hospital premises, indoor coverage in hospitals is generally poor. To offer better connectivity, DoT has suggested installation of in-building solution besides sufficient number of base transceiver stations near hospital buildings.
The decision follows a note from the Prime Minister?s Office to the DoT directing the latter to take appropriate measure to improve connectivity in hospital premises.
