Dixon Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Tamil Nadu to set up a Rs 10 billion facility near Chennai.

Under the agreement, Dixon Technologies is expected to establish the unit at the Indospace Industrial Park in Oragadam, approximately 45 km south of Chennai. The facility will focus on manufacturing laptops and all-in-one personal computers and the company will also provide electronic manufacturing services to other firms. The upcoming factory, located at Oragadam in Kancheepuram district, is expected to create around 5,000 jobs.

Founded in 1993, Dixon Technologies, has been offering contract manufacturing services to brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, boAt, Panasonic, TCL Technologies, and OnePlus.
