Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA) has complimented the Rajasthan government for constitution of the task force under the chairmanship of principal secretary, Urban Development for the use of government infrastructure/street furniture for the rolling out of 5G networks in Rajasthan and issue necessary amendments in Rajasthan.
The development comes in the backdrop of other states like Punjab and Kerala constituting the task force.
Commenting on the development, T.R.Dua, director-general, DIPA, said, “We are thankful to the government of Rajasthan for the constitution of task force, this will have a critical role in achieving the National Broadband Mission targets and faster telecom roll-out in Rajasthan. In various SBC, representatives from DIPA with the support of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) have been following up with Rajasthan government for the changes in Rajasthan RoW Policy, this is a fruitful outcome of those numerous efforts. With 5G coming with a highly promising speed and data rate and a 100 times increase in site capacities not being feasible, the coverage of the base stations and the possible distance travelled by the signal will be reduced highly affecting the reach of the network. Smalls cells will improve coverage in high density and low signal areas ensuring network connectivity everywhere.”
