Senior Director, Telecom Products and Solutions, Vertiv

Dinesh Dhut, senior director of telecom products and solutions at Vertiv, leads the charge in modernising telecom infrastructure.

Dhut’s two-decade-long professional journey began in 1995, when he started refining his engineering skills and exploring solar projects at a UPS start-up. Transitioning to Ador Powertron Limited in 2002, he further honed his technical expertise before spearheading data centre offerings and product management at Vertiv Energy Private Limited in 2007, where he continues to drive innovation in the telecom sector. “Our priority is to assist telecom companies by offering innovative models, high-efficiency equipment, green energy hybrid solutions, and advanced fuel management solutions to minimise power consumption and fuel usage,” he says.

In the fiercely competitive Indian telecom market, continuous innovation is paramount. Dhut and his team are committed to delivering innovative models and high-efficiency equipment to minimise power and fuel usage. Amidst the rising focus on sustainability, he stresses on the need for investing in renewables and eco-friendly practices to minimise the carbon footprint at telecom tower sites. He also highlights the increasing integration of AI and machine learning in telecom operations. From predictive analytics to streamlining customer service processes, these technologies will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and enhancing customer experiences. A key challenge is ensuring seamless incorporation of AI into network management and customer service enhancement. This entails upgrading equipment and ensuring compatibility with renewable energy sources.

Dhut foresees the expansion of 5G networks as a key trend that will revolutionise connectivity. “The proliferation of IoT devices, driven by 5G’s capabilities, will require network infrastructure upgrades. Further, investments in optic fibre networks will soar, enhancing mobile and fixed line broadband services,” he says.

Reflecting on his career, Dhut recalls his obtaining Telecom Engineering Centre certification for telecom products as a high point and underscores his commitment to excellence. He describes his management style as collaborative, supportive and motivation driven, with an emphasis on effective leadership and problem solving.

Dhut graduated from the Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon, Amravati University, and has a PGDGM (Marketing) degree from NMIMS Mumbai. Outside of work, Dhut enjoys going on small religious trips with his family, listening to old Bollywood songs and playing indoor games.
