
Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom have successfully completed the merger of their UK-based mobile units, T-Mobile UK and Orange UK, two of the largest mobile operators in the country.
The newly formed JV, which will be headed by the CEO of Orange UK while the managing director of T-Mobile UK will serve as the chief operating officer. Though the deal has obtained all the necessary regulatory approvals, the JV will initially be closely monitored by the authorities to prevent it from becoming a monopoly.
Meanwhile, the merged entity is undertaking measures to secure business and create additional sources of revenue.
