According to a recent report by cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, distributed denial of services
(DDoS) attacks have increased three-fold in the second quarter of 2020 (Q2 2020).

In its report, Kaspersky noted that the number of attacks blocked in Q2 2020 increased by 217 per cent on year on year basis.

As per Kaspersky, the general trend is that the number of attacks reduce during the second quarter when the first quarter, the peak season for businesses, witnesses the highest amount of attacks. However, in 2020, such cyberattacks are not seasonal.
