As per industry sources, the Digital Communications Commission (DCC) will most likely hold a meeting in the first half of December 2019 and may take up the issue of spectrum auction pricing.

Moreover, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has announced that it will hold auctions within the 2020 timeline.

However, many industry analysts are skeptical about the plan given that the industry is already reeling under debt. Moreover, additional dues of over Rs 1.47 trillion has also been imposed on the telecom players following the recent Supreme Court order on adjusted gross revenue (AGR).

Meanwhile, as per industry sources, DoT has so far not referred the issue of setting the floor price to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Further, DoT is most likely to not intervene in recent announcement by the telecom operators to raise tariffs.
