Facebook has got on board David Marcus as the vice-president, messaging products of the company. He will oversee the messenger service within Facebook?s social network as well as the free messenger mobile application.
Marcus will report directly to Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive officer and Javier Olivan, vice-president, growth and analytics, Facebook.
Prior to joining Facebook, Marcus was leading eBay Inc?s payments unit PayPal for the past two years.
