D. Shivakumar, managing director, Nokia India has been appointed the head of the newly created IMEA region, based out of Dubai. The move is part of Nokia’s global restructuring process, wherein it has compressed eight regions into four.
The IMEA region, to be headed by Shivakumar, comprises around 90 countries. The handset major will appoint a new head for India operations over the next few months.
Shivakumar said, ?There is no change in the status of India for Nokia as a result of this restructuring. India continues to be the largest manufacturing base for us. The only change is that new India head will report to me instead of the Nokia Board.?
