CtrlS Datacenters Limited has announced plans to establish a greenfield 12MW data centre in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 5 billion. The facility will be developed over a five-acre plot allocated by the Madhya Pradesh government at Badwai IT Park and is expected to create approximately 200 jobs in phases.
The facility has been designed as an artificial intelligence (AI)-ready data centre, and aims to feature cutting-edge cooling and security systems. Once fully operational, it is anticipated to contribute Rs 750 million each in annual State GST (SGST) and Central GST (CGST) revenues.
The project aligns with the state’s progressive policy initiatives, including the IT, ITeS and ESDM Investment Promotion Policy 2023, which offers up to 25 per cent capital expenditure subsidy, and the Global Capability Centers Policy 2025, which aims to attract over 50 global tech hubs.
The data centre is expected to strengthen the region’s digital ecosystem by enabling high-performance cloud computing, AI, and data processing applications, while supporting MP’s vision of becoming a $2 trillion economy by 2047 through robust digital infrastructure and hi-tech investments.
