The government’s Common Service Centre (CSC) has reportedly stopped operations and maintenance (O&M) of BharatNet’s optical fibre cables (OFC) and other equipment following a lack of clearance of its dues by Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL).

According to sources, CSC stopped O&M work for BBNL in June 2022 after the contract between the two parties ended. An audit of the O&M work done by CSC is currently underway, after which pending dues will be released.

As per reports, CSC is looking to take on the O&M of OFC and equipment of other public companies such as RailTel and other private companies following the termination of the contract.
