According to a report by NTT DATA, 84 per cent of Indian C-suite executives are planning major transformations in 2025 due to the emphasis on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) integration. They are investing to align GenAI strategies with business goals, aiming to shorten the deployment gap of GenAI in 2025.

The report suggested that agent-augmented solutions are set to revolutionise IT workflows, utilising automated tools like intelligent code generation, chatbots for support, and advanced data management systems. These innovations optimise routine tasks, allowing IT teams to focus on strategic initiatives, reducing turnaround times, improving accuracy, and enhancing productivity.

Hyper-automation is set to revolutionise business processes, particularly in finance and accounting, by automating repetitive tasks like invoice processing, expense management and payroll calculations. This will increase efficiency, accuracy, and faster processing times, allowing employees to focus on strategic activities. The integration of hyper automation and digital marketplaces will also boost customer loyalty and help organisations gain a competitive edge.

The report predicted that workforce transformation will accelerate as businesses invest in reskilling programs to empower employees with AI fluency. 96 per cent global and 100 per cent Indian respondents believe GenAI can streamline workflows and redefine employee experiences. However, challenges arise due to lack of GenAI expertise among employees. This will give rise to several training initiatives in 2025 that will include focused programs to address the skill gaps in enabling smoother adoption of GenAI.

The report has outlined companies’ plans to utilise GenAI’s potential in 2025, transitioning from an experimental phase to strategic adoption and real usage, requiring significant changes across domains and substantial investment in adapting to the GenAI era.

Further, in 2025, organisations are expected to increase investment in modernising their infrastructure, particularly hybrid and multi-cloud solutions, to overcome outdated hardware, software, and networks that hinder GenAI deployment.

The report noted that GenAI will have a long-term impact, addressing challenges and fostering responsible innovation to drive measurable results and societal advancement. Companies and leaders globally have well-defined strategies to leverage the true potential of GenAI.
