Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) and RMZ Corp have partnered to establish a joint platform with an investment of over $ 1.7 billion to enhance digital infrastructure in India’s rapidly growing market.

RMZ has joined the venture through its subsidiary, RMZ Digital Infrastructure Partners (RDIP), forming an equal partnership between the two entities. The joint venture’s funding includes both equity and debt, with potential for additional investment to meet the increasing demand for data centre capabilities in the region.

The initial focus of the investment will be on accelerating developments at existing sites in Navi Mumbai and Ambattur, Chennai, with plans to include a third site in the future. Over the next 3-5 years, the platform aims to achieve a total data centre capacity of over 250 MW across three assets.

Further, Colt DCS is set to develop a new 100 MW data centre adjacent to its current 25 MW facility in Airoli. Once completed, the Airoli data centre campus will boast a total capacity exceeding 125 MW. Additionally, the company plans to establish an 80-100 MW data centre in Chennai and has already secured a 10-acre land parcel in Ambattur for this purpose.
