COAI to write to state authorities for reopening of retail recharge points

As per industry sources, COAI is planning to write to all states requesting authorities to reinstate retail recharge points in a staggered manner to enable feature phone mobile users to recharge their phones.

Further, COAI is also planning to seek the provision of requisite passes for movement of people who will man these centres and handle any fibre cuts.

This has come in the light of government’s recent move to extend the nationwide lockdown till May 03, 2020, to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
