The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has requested the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to come out with customer advocacy campaigns to generate awareness around the new framework for flagging pesky telemarketing calls.

As per COAI, it is important for customers to know how the new framework works to make the process effective.

The move comes after the TRAI had recently asked telecom firms for submission of status report over complaints regarding pesky calls, on a monthly basis starting September 2019.

TRAI has outlined a specific format under which compliance reports need to be filed by operators.
