Cisco has announced that it is setting up data centres in Mumbai and Chennai to roll out Webex Calling and Webex Contact Centre services for the Indian market. The move will enable organisations to strengthen their cloud-based collaboration capabilities while ensuring compliance with domestic telecom regulations. With the new infrastructure, Cisco customers will be able to connect Webex Calling to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) through their chosen licensed telecom carriers.
Through the Cloud Connect for Webex Calling service, telcos will be able to directly integrate with the Webex platform and deliver PSTN services to users via the cloud. The Webex Contact Centre solution, to be hosted in Cisco’s Mumbai data centre, will provide enterprises with advanced features such as artificial intelligence (AI)-powered assistants, seamless integration across digital channels, workforce optimisation, and enhanced agent experiences. The Webex AI Agent will support natural language voice and digital interactions, offering real-time intent fulfilment and serving as an automated first point of contact.
Both Webex Calling and Webex Contact Centre will deliver secure, scalable cloud collaboration solutions tailored to India’s regulatory and privacy requirements, Cisco said, helping enterprises simplify communications, maintain compliance, and deliver high-quality user experiences.
