Cisco is planning to purchase UK-based small cells specialist Ubiquisys for $310 million, says news reports.
Post the acquisition, Ubiquisys will be integrated into the Cisco Service Provider Mobility Group. The acquisition is expected to help Cisco strengthen its position in the heterogenous networks market offering services to operators.
Ubiquisys targets the service provider market, offering them 3G, long term evolution and Wi-Fi small cells solutions for building up their networks.
