Cisco, which is currently chalking out a succession plan for John Chambers, chief executive officer, has made key changes in its top management, say news reports.

The changes have been undertaken to ensure that the company effectively manages market transitions and delivers innovative solutions.

As part of the management reshuffle, Garry B. Moore as president and chief operating officer, Cisco will be responsible for the company?s end-to-end operations, and drive alignment across all parts of the company by leading operational discipline and prioritisation required for supporting the company?s long-term strategy. Additionally, he will be responsible for Cisco?s operations, services, IT, supply chain, marketing and communications, human resources, corporate affairs, transformation office, legal, government affairs, and corporate planning functions.

Rob Lloyd, who was previously heading the company?s worldwide sales function has been appointed as president, development and sales. He will be responsible for Cisco?s development and sales efforts. He will focus on aligning accelerating Cisco?s technology innovation to enable a faster response to market transitions, increased customer relevance and growth.

Pankaj Patel, executive vice president and chief development officer, will continue to lead Cisco?s development organisation.

Chuck Robbins in his new role as head, worldwide sales, Cisco will lead the company?s sales initiatives across the world. Earlier, he was heading sales for America at Cisco.

Wim Elfrink, executive vice president and chief globalisation officer, Cisco will continue to focus on emerging solutions and the development of new markets, and will integrate his organisation into the development and sales organisation.
