Cisco has appointed Sameer Garde as its India head, effective August 1, 2017. This follows the exit of Dinesh Malkani, president, Cisco India and South Asian Asso­ciation for Regional Cooperation. In the past, Garde has worked as president and managing director (MD) of Dell India, senior vice-president (VP) and country head, enterprise business, at Samsung India, and president for South Asia at Philips Healthcare. Malkani will remain associated with Cisco till end-September 2017 and take on a leadership role in a start-up thereafter. He had joined Cisco in 2010 to lead the collaboration technologies team in Asia-Pacific, Japan and China.
